It sounds like a pretty solid vehicle.


For $2K, even if you need to replace the engine down the road, you're ahead of the game.

As for dirty brake fluid, you need to flush the brake system, not just bleed the brakes. Simple procedure, and let me know if you want to start doing it yourself. The initial Motive equipment setup will run you around $70, but it should be good for several decades. But you will need to change the plastic hoses every 10 years or so...

In addition to flushing the brake system, I highly recommend replacing every fluid in the vehicle. Engine oil, transmission and both differentials. If it has a manual transmission, all of these procedures are very easy to complete yourself. You'll just need an inexpensive hand pump. ()
