Kinda what Microsoft does though, let other people develop the concept and

products and about the time it becomes a commodity they absorb it into the OC fairly cheaply. Not a bad thing though in that it eventually creates consistent architectures for the general public, instead of folks creating their own hot rods and not really their profit center either.
