If both jobs were on the table I think Shane still picks USC


The only shot we had at Shane was maybe when Frank retired. At the time, everybody laughed at the notion, but I thought it was worth consideration. Would Bud have stayed if we had done it? It definitely would have looked bad to take the coach's kid over Bud in that situation. No, I think Shane did an excellent job of building his resume and will be a great coach, but probably better he is blazing his own path.
