One more (time sensitive) inheritance question...

So, still wrapping my brain around some of the financial fall out of my MIL's passing. I'm completely ignorant on the financial side of things. She died on 12/22. There was a trust set up from a previous inheritance to provide for her care. That trust has now been settled out, and I just got a check in the mail for my wife's portion of that remaining previous inheritance. I'm assuming the trustee rushed this so as to have it "finished" in this tax year. The check is dated 12/30. I'd rather wait and cash it tomorrow, so as to not have to worry about this on my taxes for '21. Am I good to do that?
