Losing a Dad and the sudden announcement seem to support that

It can force you to realign your priorities for sure when your Dad leaves the Earth - there is a vacuum of energy. The fact that he's leaving suddenly and throws out that he may come back suggests he's focusing on _his_ mental health. Good for him.
