Not an Arborist...but kind of a tree geek. When you can...make clean cuts


where the branches broke off...and cut fairly close to the trunk (or the larger branch if that is the case) Trees are fairly resilient if the roots are intact. Cherry trees are slower growing but in time should return to form.
