My 2021 VT bowl game watching tips for newbies when expecitng blowout loss

1 - Do Not Watch the game live with commercials > Record it
( I recorded my 2021 VT bowl game blowout loss on YoutubeTV )
2 - Stay away from sports channels and social media until you are ready to watch game.
3 - Wait until you have 2 hour block with no one around (typically for me this is after midnight)
4 - Start game and enjoy introductions and discussions about the match up
5 - Fast Forward through commercials
6 - Watch the First Quarter as if it was Live. This first half if the best part of the game. Particularly the first quarter, because kids are pumped up, and every Hokie is thinking (Who knows, maybe we pull it off!) Watch TSL message boards and enjoy side show!!
7 - Continue watching through to 2nd quarter. AT this point it should start to be obvious that we are out matched. The half time score should still be close enough that game is not quite a full blowout yet. That starts in the 2nd half.
8 - Half time, Pause, Finish off atleast 3-6 beers if you have not already. Now you are ready.
9 - You are free to fast forward through the halftime show, and all opponent possessions, as they score at will. I like to fast forward to where VT has the ball, just so I can keep an eye on who is playing and keep tabs on offensive pros / cons.
10- Fourth Quarter I watch for new QB's and young players to see how they hold up under pressure. Continue fast-forwarding through to VT possessions until clock runs out.
11 - Watch for coach expression at handshake.
12 - Keep watching after handshake, and think, man I'm glad I did not travel to this game.
13 - Stop game, Drink beer. Dream of a better VT football future.
14 - Scan TSL Message boards for funny posts.
15 - Think of something to say that is not depressing and post.
16 - Move on with your life until the next season!!! Use extra time saved by not watching live to hang with family for moral support.
17. Quietly mutter to your wife, "Whelp, another VT season is done." (Don't wait for any kind of response)

Hopefully I don't have to follow these guidelines any time soon again!!

Go Hokies
