Has anyone had a problem with The Athletic and comment bans?
So as the title says, has anyone else here had a problem with the The Athletics so called 'customer service' and commenting bans? A month ago I noticed that whenever I posted a comment, it would say 'comment saved' but nothing would show. When I emailed customer service, they walk me through the various technical support steps, say they referred me to Tier 2, and would get back to me.
A month later, no one gets back to me. I follow up, and I get a terse email that I repeatedly violated code of conduct. I respond asking:
1. What posts were determined to be in violation?
2. Why wasn't I informed that these posts were in violation?
3. Why wasn't I informed that further posts like these would result in loss of posting privs?
4.Why wasn't I informed that my posting privs were revoked?
5. Why wasn't I informed of this last month when I first contacted support? Service Rep never mentioned this and made me walk through tech support steps
6. How long until my posting privs are restored?
7. Why were there no in-app or email communications of any steps of this entire process?
Its been a few days and still no response. What kind of unprofessional $100/year bullshit is this? Comment bans and don't even warn people? Don't even show them their so called inappropriate posts? Give them no chances at all not only to improve their posts, but even tell them that their posts are offending someone to start with? wtf?
They have no idea how to run a functional comment section. Look at the article about the NY Times sale, I see dozens of [flagged for reviews] edits. Are they being banned too?
