Here you go.......there are two rings to your giving with the VTAF.....

BOTH add priority points to your membership. That is what decides your priority for seat selection/parking/benefits. But one is necessary to start the domino of everything else.

The first ring that "activates" your membership is your giving to the Hokie Scholarship Fund. That is your "per seat" donation/parking. You have to have that for your priority to "kick in."

The second ring is any additional giving to the VTAF. That could be sport specific giving, giving to a capital project, giving to an endowment, etc. Basically any other giving outside of the HSF counts. The ONLY way that type of stuff doesn't count is if it comes directly from a Donor Advised Fund/Direct IRA distribution.

But, you can't direct your donation to softball, or soccer, or volleyball in lieu of your HSF donation and have that activate your priority (meaning that wouldn't help you with your seats/parking). That type of giving would have to be above the HSF donation. Does that make sense? In other words, nothing matters until you satisfy your HSF giving. Once that is triggered, everything matters, so to speak :-)......

Example:

You have four seats in the $800 section for football. That means your HSF giving is $3200. That activates your membership, triggering your priority to select seats and parking. If, on top of that, you give $800 more between softball, soccer, and volleyball, that will be added to your priority point total. So, you would get $4000 worth of points added to your membership......But without your $3200 gift, it won't trigger those points until you make a HSF gift first. Hope that helps......
