I remember some years ago when the women were scheduled to play Wake Forest here and it was right after a bad snow storm. Wake and the refs made it to Blacksburg either before or during the storm, so they played the game with free admission. All seats were “sit where you wanted”, few ushers were there, no concessions, and the crowd was minimal.

I believe Beth was the coach and we lost the game to a bad WF team.
