Very stressful. You are right in that

it is harder to plow snow in an urban/suburban setting because of the heavier traffic and more vehicles, but it’s probably more dangerous in the rural counties, where the grades are much steeper and the roads more narrow. I plowed public roads for several years in my younger days. One time I was going up a very steep hill with dual chains on the back, got almost to the top, where I stopped then I started sliding backwards down the hill. I would have slid over the side slope if it weren’t for a dirt berm and power pole that stopped me. Also, where I live, we have many dead end secondary roads that have no cul-de-sac or turn around at the end. Many times I had to treat a road like that (often at night), then back out a third or half a mile to the main road.
