Differing levels of commitment from those schools...


Marquette, relative to the Big East, pours a lot of money into their program, so they get good results. Thats why (along with opportune timing) they can poach a coach from Texas.

Indiana, the same thing, they put a lot of money in it. But, the competition level increased so his actual coaching acumen showed up more.

Georgia...does not care about basketball. They feel if they can get a name coach then they can throw the same money they always have but get better results. Name coaches dont always work out because name coaches could be a product of their circumstances rather than a sum of their coaching prowess.

Georgia not caring about basketball may he what saves his job, but if they keep going like they are itll be hard to justify paying someone that amount to lose that many games
