Ron Franklin was the voice of the breakout game of the Beamer era


When we took down formerly #1 UVa in Blacksburg in 1990. That was the Virginia team that had Herman Moore and Chris Slade but was without Shawn Moore due to injury.

You just felt it in old Lane Stadium that day, with the high school style temporary bleachers above the tunnel that things were going to change for good that day and that the rise of Tech football was coming.
