I got to see prothonotary warblers up close a few years ago...


...at the Dismal Swamp Birding festival. They had a net set up to trap birds so they could be banded. One of my buds got to hold one.

I occasionally see Eastern Towhees in my neighborhood, but they aren't nearly as common as the typical local birds.

The Great Backyard Bird Count happens next month, so get ready!
