turnovers Alleyne was involved in might have been preventable with some game situation coaching + player understanding. The team IMO should not have been continuing to inbound into the teeth of the traps. Alleyne was in a tough situation on the first one, catching the ball right where the first trap would obviously come. We throw into it anyway, and he walked while trying to get free of the trap. That’s not Alleyne’s fault. The second one Alleyne was inbounding, again, straight into another trap. It makes me wonder what the players were being told on the sideline. We would actually do it one more time @ 20.3 seconds inbounding into the trap. Murphy made a nice play to pass out of the trap to Mutts, but it looked to me like NC State muffed their zone coverage by not playing the pass properly between Murphy and Mutts. We could not have gotten more lucky not to lose this game, not because of Alleyne, but because of the team not being prepared for zone traps when inbounding the ball. Hopefully the coaches will get that corrected before Saturday.
