And Extra Innings Softball is showing the Hokies some love as well
This weekend, I met Justin McLeod, who published Justin's World of Softball for over a decade but is now the National College Editor for Extra Innings Softball. He is one of the most respected folks in the college softball business, so if you're interested in following college softball on a national level, considered subscribing to Extra innings.
Here's a couple of comments from Justin in his "Weekly Roundup column"
"In the category of “happenings” for Virginia Tech softball this weekend, there were a lot. Touted freshman Emma Lemley made her debut, collecting sixteen strikeouts in a victory over Wisconsin. Pete D’Amour threw Lemley right into the fire, and she responded with a solid performance over a quality B1G foe....Lemley’s poise through the unplanned happenings (illegal pitch calls) was impressive for a freshman making her debut."
"Keely Rochard was her usual stoic self in the circle, taking the ball and leading the Hokies to wins over Northwestern, Missouri, and Kentucky. Rochard collected 34 strikeouts on the weekend."
"A team that generally packs a punch at the plate, the Hokies hit just two home runs on opening weekend, but scored 23 runs in five games en route to the weekend sweep."
Finally, he took some cool pictures that he posted in his online gallery - this one alone is probably worth the subscription price...lol
