Carter was the 4-seed when he lost to Steiber .


Carter beat UNC's Henderson in semifinals in 2014. He was also the 4-seed in 2015 when he got upset by Kevin Jack but he wrestled back to 3rd place. The controversy that year was his 4-seed instead of Lavion Mayes getting the 3-seed which put Carter in the same bracket as #1 Steiber. Didn't matter when Carter got upset early in the tournament.
