it is a combination of things. She is struggling, maybe somewhat overanxious, and that leads to impatience at the plate. She is also suffering from some bad luck in that she has it a lot of at 'ems. Today she goes 1 for 3 and the last two at bats were quick(3 swings and 1 swing). While the .250 average is below her ability she is still making contact and some of that contact just needs to find a hole. The good news is VT actually has a hitting coach now who I believe can help her with the struggle, if and when he believes it is more about approach than discipline. VT has got a line up of pretty free swingers which is not bad as long as it is appropriately balanced with plate discipline and situational awareness. Hard to argue with only 3 L's so far though. ;-) GO Hokies!
