For whatever reason my folks didn't feel it would happen. They bought down in Hatteras instead.
The state and Fed closed off the access soon after, stopping any possibility of a direct route from VB into the northern banks. Probably all for the best.

We've been hearing about that stupid mid-county bridge ever since. It is much needed and long overdue.
