I agree with that assessment and I understand why they typically occur


at the beginning of the season. However, if VT doesn't want to play in 4 or 5 tournaments between Feb and middle of March, then a small tournament (i.e. 4 teams maybe 8 at the most) might be the only way to avoid having gaps late in the season in the middle of the week. I picked 4 because that could mean everyone plays 2 games in 2 days. While 8 would mean 3 games in 3 days. I know it isn't ideal, but the alternative is to increase the number of mid-week games against quality opponents (i.e. Tenn's game).
