I feel similarly about my boss.

While he isn't the one who took the initial chance on me out of VT, he was hired to replace the guy that hired me about 3 months into my career, after my boss at the time was promoted. The current boss has repeatedly shown more confidence in me than I have in myself and has given me multiple unsolicited raises and promoted me a few years ago. While I'm not getting rich, I make a very comfortable salary and am happy doing what I do. I will always be extremely loyal to both my boss and my company for having taken care of me over the 17 years I've been employed there since graduating from VT in 2004. That goes a very long way with me.
