Boeing moved their HQ to Chicago after the McDonnell Douglas merger.


It was billed as a merger of equals, so they picked a place that neither company had a presence in.

Nova makes a lot of sense. Boeing’s defense unit is already HQ’d in Crystal City. And they’re increasingly less reliant on the Puget Sound for the commercial aircraft business so it wouldn’t have made sense to move their HQ to Seattle.

I’m sure they’ll attempt to leverage VT’s Nova campus as well.
