Agree. At 1st they seemed to think they could tap into some connections

that would help make up for ticking off half of Va. Then I think he probably had in the back of his mind that going West may be in his future so he continued to look in Tx, Michigan, etc. By the time he finished or while doing a post mortem of his performance here he probably reached the same conclusion you suggested for him.
