The Spielberg and King influences are HEAVY in Stranger Things on Netflix


Too many to list here, as a matter of fact. I noticed the Spielberg influences right away, then later realized it was basically a Steven King novel in its structure and characterization ... and protagonists, and antagonists and supporting characters, and etc. etc.

Anyway, last night I Googled "Duffer Brothers influences" and this article came up. I missed the John Carpenter influence, but I see it now.

For the record, I've watched 7 of the 8 episodes. Really enjoying it.
