Also look at the ACC standings that year, IIRC VT only played the teams

that finished ahead of them once that year, and lost each of those games. They only beat teams that finished below them, and they had two shots at some of those teams. And they still didn't sweep some of the lower finishing teams.

What I'm saying is that VT had a horrible OOC SOS and they also had a terrible IN conference SOS, which they didn't properly take advantage of it.
