For those who weren't able to keep up with all of the action or watch the matches it may look like we didn't do to well today. These brackets are massive and the pretty much stuffed two days of wrestling in one today. They flew through the consolation bracket so those who lost early had a lot going against them. Some of the later losses shouldn't be much of s concern because these guys were just gassed.
Norstrem- Not sure what happened in his first match, but ever since he's just been letting loose. He's such an improviser. He's definitely ready to take the helm at 125 next year. Definitely showing off some big moves. The way they flew through the consolation matches he also showed off a big gas tank. His conditioning is in a league of its own.
Gus- He definitely had moments where he looked very good. He was definitely exhausted in his last match.
Haskett- He looked super impressive today especially on his feet. He was getting in deep many times just having a tough time finishing. He has improved a lot and Gus might want to watch his back.
Moore- He got the gauntlet thrown at him. He gave Brock trouble, but I think Brock is just a better freestyle wrestler than Brent right now. Folkstyle could end differently. Then his match with Mccrystal was just a matter of Brent being out of gas. I think he wins that match fresh. He was up by 4 and then gassed and Mccrystal just went to town. He's definitely ready to go at 141.
Dunn- I've been hard on him in the past, but he made me a believer today. He needs to stay away from collar ties though. This has been a problem and I thought him putting on weight to wrestle heavy just turned him into an old school heavy who just pushes and pulls. Today he showed me he actually doesn't want to be there and works to get away, but when his opponent puts him there he gets stuck and looks overpowered. He definitely looked like the slick wrestler he was in high school. Very promising.
I didn't get to watch much of the other guys so not much to report.
