Amazon Prime giving 2% discount to debit card purchases

Amazon has offered to refund users 2 percent of the total bill as a bonus for debit card use.

They claim Amazon Prime customers spend 2x as much as non-Prime. It's not clear whether that means they spend 2x as much annually or on each order.
