If they were open to trading MoJo, should have done it before the expansion draft, and moved him for a player or two not eligible for the draft. A lesser value, sure, but more than a couple of mid-range draft picks. Then, I think it's not the worst gamble to expose Eller and Wilson to protect Schmidt.

Hell, I would have been happy with "Take Orpik's salary, and you can have Mojo for free!". That way they'd at least avoid salary cap hell.
