I had Bruce Boudreau take care of it for me

Yes, the hockey coach. I worked for a book publisher and we had a book coming out by Bruce (along with a sportswriter coauthor) when I was laid off in a pretty unethical way. I'd only dealt with the sportswriter, and continued chatting with him after my layoff.

Anyway, the book came out and Bruce was doing his first booksigning after a Caps practice, so the sportswriter invited me -- and the guy who laid me off was there as well.

Before things started up the coauthor was introducing both me and the publisher to Bruce. "This is NH95, he was the guy who signed the book and the guy I worked with until he was laid off in a really crappy way. [pause] And this is Sam, the guy who did it."

Bruce looked at Sam and asks, "What the hell did you do that for? The book came out great!" He just kinda stammered around a bit while I stood there and smirked. Good times.
