700 people who could purchase 6-8 tickets, in the best sections, for $500/year, forever -- I can totally understand why Whit wanted to move away from that arrangement.

I don't understand the exact legal obligations (plus the value of keeping your word) -- and I realize many of the big donors were donating above & beyond the $500 minimum.

But it's crazy to think that *thousands* of tickets were locked-up, and VT was only receiving $500 in some cases. Crazy.
