48zip covered my initial reaction. I didn't try to cover ALL the finances


involved, just saying that if we compare 2 people, or 2 families, who make the same lifetime earnings, but one of them lives more frugally and ultimately saves $150,000 for college while the other saves nothing...

Then the one who saved nothing, in the current system, will get more aid than the one who saved the $150,000 even though both of them had the exact same opportunity to save, but one chose not to.
