It shouldn't have happened. My guess is the currents shifted the drill rig


The underground cables should have been marked and located very accurately.

Unless the boring or drilling equipment shifted due to strong currents, I have no idea. Keep in mind that currents in that area is very unpredictable. The sand bar(s) near the bridge make it unique.
