thing where they're willing to spend 100% more for a 10% increase in quality....or more.

I had a roommate 25 years ago, he was into high end audio equipment. A CD player that cost him almost $2,000. Speakers that were in the $9,000 range.

Were his $9,000 speakers better than my $400 speakers? Yup, definitely were. Were they 22.5 times better? No bleeping way. But for him, that increase in quality was worth it.

For me, it's Maui Jim sunglasses. Are they better than a $40 to $50 pair of polarized lenses you can find if you do some looking? Yes, definitely. Are they 7 times better? Probably not, but I consider it worth it.
