I actually got into Syracuse back in the day -- and into the Newhouse School. I ended up getting an offer of ZERO financial aid from Syracuse, though, so I ended up at VT sight unseen. Had no idea where the school was even located, actually.

There's a pretty big Syracuse network out there, but I think it's becoming less important as time goes on. If your son is good at what he does, I think he can go anywhere and succeed.

One other thought, if you think he'd be interested and could handle it -- take a trip to Orlando in December for the Baseball Winter Meetings and try to set up an internship with MILB. If I remember right, he has experience in that area, correct? Didn't he do a wood-bat league?
