So sorry to hear this. I fear we will be facing something similar soon.


Our almost 14 year old lab mix may have cancer. She was urinating blood a few weeks ago, so I took her to the emergency vet. They determined she had a UTI, but upon using ultrasound to assist in collecting a urine sample they noted her bladder walls looked thickened. They recommended a more detailed ultrasound, so we agreed. In addition to the thickened bladder, the vet saw a mass on her spleen and nodules on her liver. No guarantee they are cancerous, but we are not going to put her through biopsies to find out, since there's not much we could do about it anyway. After a round of antibiotics she seems totally fine, but who knows. We're just hoping for the best and trying to appreciate every day that we have with her.
