WW2 peeps: 3 things/finds... 1st up, I never saw this series (SPOILS)

And the 2nd and 3rd have been pretty good.
(1st can be skipped as an all encompassing epilogue
they added in later on)

Crusade in the Pacific spends a fair amount of time on
pre-WWII Pacific affairs and the first year of War. Very
very good. right up my favor that part of the timeline alley.
.............................
2nd, who was this krazy ass B-24 Indian General who
took off from Pearl and tried to attack the japanese
carriers at Midway?!?

Gen. Clarence L. Tinker.
Can't find much on him... as who knows? Maybe they
did not like his, attack?

"In June 1942, the Japanese began their assault of Midway Island. In the midst of the Battle of Midway, on June 7, General Tinker decided to lead a force of early model B-24s of the 31st Bombardment Squadron[4] against the retreating Japanese naval forces. Near Midway Island, his plane was seen to go out of control and plunge into the sea. General Tinker and ten other crewmen perished. The plane and bodies were never recovered."

Seems rather heroic to not have hardly any acclaim?
Tough guy either way... just wish there was more to
his story to be, told.
......................................

Finally finished my Caribbean Sea ww2 book.
Too bad we never got that frenchy aircraft-carrier to
flip to our side. What a shame to see a big ole fleet
carrier loaded to the gills with planes sit there 3-4 years and never do any mo' than rust.
