FFB question: Bye week roster management
Coming up on bye weeks, now, and I'm trying to figure out how to manage my roster for the upcoming weeks. I'm going to have to drop a player in order to replace with temporary players for those positions (K, D/ST, TE) I don't have a backup on my bench, which has only five slots in this league. How do you choose who to drop? Do you let go based on projections for the week, or based on projections for the remainder of the season (in case you can't get him back), and if the latter, where do you go for that sort of data? (All I've seen in a little bit of looking is rankings for each week, not rankings for the remainder of the season.) Or do you decide to drop the K/DST/TE and just pick up whatever's available aftewards?
Second question: who would you drop from this group, and why (this week projections or remainder of season projections, or from a different roster management strategy)? I'm in a 12-team PPR league with no keeper.
Starters:
QB: A. Dalton
RB: J. Howard, K. Hunt
Flex: unsure
WR: M. Evans, J. Landry
TE: Z. Ertz
D/ST: (Claim in on DET)
K: M. Bryant (on BYE)
Bench (Flex from one of these):
M. Mariota
M. Bryant
B. Marshall
J. Allen
C. Davis (out)
A. Kamara (BYE)
I've been claiming DSTs based on matchup the past few weeks, since I drafted Arizona, until I latch onto a DST that is worthy of keeping throughout the remainder of the season. But I don't want to lose Matt Bryant as my K, because he's been pretty valuable. So how do you decide from this group who to let go? I think Davis is going to be a solid #2 WR when he comes back, so I'd like to keep him. How would you decide who between Bryant, Marshall, and Allen (or maybe even Mariota or Dalton) to drop to pick up a K?
