but this is the same woman who not only believed the world would end at each of the various original and updated dates in the past 5 years, but she tried to corner people and recruit in their quest, as well.

Her and my dad couldn't be more different.

It's possible (we don't know, but there is some evidence) that her only son is gay. It would crush her to find that out.
