The Virginia Tech ice hockey team defeated UVA 5-3 tonight at the Berglund Center in Roanoke.

It was a gritty team effort as the Hokies dominated play early but found themselves trailing 2-0 after the 1st period and 3-1 with 8 minutes left in the second. But the boys mashed the gas pedal at that point, outscoring the Hoos 4-0 the rest of the way.

This was a really good win for the team as UVA is the defending ACCHL champions.

This win capped off a GREAT weekend for the Hokies as it followed a 9-1 thrashing of West Virginia on Friday night.

GO HOKIES!!!!!
