So I get an email from a woman, with a sig that says "Pronouns: She/Her"

This woman, as far as we can tell, isn't transgendered nor is she going through or intends to go through a gender change. And her name is clearly female, it isn't "Chris" or a name that could be male or female. Question: is this someone's attempt to announce they are "woke?" It's an academic, so I'm gonna say yes?

On the one hand, whatever. So society creates pronouns as social constructs. Society does a lot of things. How long does one's email signature need to be to address them in ways that announces you get it?

On the other, will this be how we all roll soon?

I don't know if I'm impressed or annoyed. And no, you don't want a shun for someone who has to make clear she prefers to be known as a woman.
