Been a few years since Whitetop for me. Scouts/bikes/Va Creeper ....always


fun.

Lots of backpacking on Iron Mtn Trails and App Trail and Grayson Highlands. Got in a blizzard on Whitetop one time and had to scramble to find some shelter to let it pass. Found a place in a Laurel thicket to squeeze the tent in to ride out the storm. Winter wonderland the next morning. Day before we were hiking in shorts with 65 degree temps.
