several rounds of chemo and the tumor has shrunk to the point that surgery is possible. His surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. They will be removing part of his pancreas, stomach, small intestine, gall bladder, maybe some of the liver and a significant amount of tissue including the lymph nodes in that area. He will be on a feeding tube, no solid food for a while, and he'll have tubes running in and out, to deal with fluids draining from the surgery. 50% of patients have some sort of complication, so they are preparing for that. He will be in the hospital for about two weeks, maybe more depending on how it goes.
