I-85 south from ND to Spearfish looking for a place to stay.

Everything was taken from Billings, Montana east. We got the last place available in Spearfish by calling ahead and having them hold it for us. Said they would hold it till midnight. We got there just before and there were people waiting and hoping we wouldn't show up. That was about 4-5 years ago when the shale oil people had all the motels, hotels, etc sewed up for months. Little did we know.
