I would judge more on the next years recruiting class

Given the large turnover in coaching staff and solidly stocked starters in most weights, that doesn't warrant a huge recruiting class of kids ready to start. We reloaded well on the coaching staff and if this is the worst of it, then that's not so bad.

I think it's more with our program thirty for its first individual NC and we want to land that first world champion caliber recruit and we're not quite there. They seem to always end up at Penn State (Mark Hall), Minnesota (Gable Stevenson), Ok State (Dayton Fix), Iowa (Spencer Lee), and Ohio State (Kolin Moore). We're now seeing Arizona State, Iowa State (even w/ the old staff), and a few others cracking into those recruits.

I'd be more worried if we weren't considered in the top 3 or 5 for those top recruits.

If some good things happen this year with VT/SERTC I would expect more big names in next years class. For example, getting an NCAAT finalist or getting on FS world teams and hopefully medaling would go a long way.
