He says the new Athlete Performance Center is "huge" for the wrestling program, and he's really excited about it. Proper nutrition is important for all sports, but especially critical for wrestling, with all the associated weight control.

The next thing he's looking forward to, in order to be more competitive in recruiting, are the nicer dorms that are going to be built in the future to compete with the likes of what many schools offer. (Tony mentioned they had lost one recruit to Ohio State because of the nicer dorms there). THAT project, however, is pretty far off, but I think it'll be next, after the Athlete Performance Center, and my understanding is that that's really a university endeavor, because it's half-athletes, half regular students. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Tony is pleased with SERTC fundraising and is hoping to add 1-2 more guys in the next year or so. IIRC, that will take them from 4 guys to 6, correct?

So, progress being made on two fronts, and I hope that we'll hear something about a dorm in the next 1-2 years. I know the athletic department and the BOV are pondering the issue and consider it a priority. Independent of athletics, I would think the admin side of the university likes the idea of a nicer dorm to attract top-level, non-athlete students.
