as someone who did the payroll thru direct deposit for the last two decades if it is an everyone did not get a deposit then there was an issue with the transmission of the data to the bank from either the company (in house payroll) or from the payroll service company, or the bank that the entire payroll comes out of had an issue in their ACH dept.. It happened to me a couple of times, one was my fault, very busy and did not get the direct deposit data entered in the system until after the cutoff and delayed the the employees getting the money by a day. One was the bank we made our payroll out of having issues and not getting the deposits processed.
