One, add a level of training above and beyond what you would otherwise see in a top D1 program - essentially the international/Olympic level. Why? Because the best programs are doing it, and over time, you will not be able to compete with those programs without it - both in terms of performance on the mat and during recruiting. The very highest level of recruits have international aspirations (or are already in the international realm - like a McHenry). They aren't choosing a program with anything less.

Second, to raise money to support the first goal and to otherwise supplement the tight budgets that most colleges have for wrestling.
