Flew with Mike Collins on Gemini 10
First man to orbit the moon alone on Apollo 10
Landed on the moon on Apollo 16
Flew the first Space Shuttle mission (STS-1)
Flew the first Spacelab mission (STS-9)
Was slated to fly another mission in 1986 when Challenger exploded.
