Weird work situation
I have a new boss and it's come to be a pretty uncomfortable situation. At first he seemed cool and he is new to the company and younger than me but he seemed like he knew what he was doing so I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he requested certain information and changed project objectives, etc.
Over time he became increasingly micro-managing and was constantly asking me about various issues I was dealing with and constantly wanting to go to lunch and/or dinner to discuss outcomes, etc. Even though we would agree on an approach to issues he would change his mind and want validation that he was right even though most of the time I had to explain why his idea would not work. This is extremely frustrating to him and I sensed that he had some idea that I would try to get him fired.
Every day I had to meet with him outside of work and he started getting pretty personal in his discussions and he started spilling the beans on various issues like his SO's lack of sex drive (he seems to be insecure about his manhood), his pets, etc. It has become pretty tiring. His stories started becoming more and more graphic and I could quickly sense his instability. He also suggested that I might get a raise if I allowed certain things to happen. After that I'm out.
Finally I was so uncomfortable I told him in no uncertain terms that I would not do what he asked and he accused me of threatening him. I went to HR and spilled the beans. With the sensitivity with the current sexual harassment situation they took it seriously, thank God. HR told me to not come in the office and that they would handle it. The SrVP of Admin is going to meet with him today and call me so we can nail him to the wall. I have our discussion recorded and she heard it. He's a major job hopper too and it's understandable why now. I'm pretty sure 15% of people on earth are bat-shite crazy.
