One of the biggest beefs I have with the private sector since leaving gov work is the horrible lack of downward communication regarding performance. Every employee should know what expectations are, where they stand at any given time and what screw-ups could cost them their job. This keeping everyone in the dark thing and lack of communication is garbage. No one should ever have to worry about their job over office politics. Even RIF standards should be clear to everyone.
